About Us

The Society was initially the brainchild of members of the Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference (SACBC), was founded in 1982 and remains under the patronage of the SACBC

The Aims of the Society are to:

  • link and support Catholic theologians and those interested in theological dialogue
  • stimulate research and reflection
  • examine topics relevant to the Southern African context
  • promote theological exchange through the print and electronic media
  • foster inter-faith contact with other Christian groups and other religions on theological issues
  • encourage the publication of theological articles and books

God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.  ~St. Augustine
